What is Manyatta Trade School?

Manyatta Trade School is a trade building and refuge built in the slum area of Manyatta Kenya.

Location

Manyatta is situated in the largest slum area of western Kenya.

Supporting local people

Empowering the local people by teaching them new skills to help them earn a living.

AIDS Counselling

Providing ongoing counselling and support for mothers who have contracted the AIDS virus.

Food and Medical

Ongoing support with food and medical supplies including access to doctors, nurses and pharmacists.

Orphans

Providing assistance with the placement of orphaned children with new families.

Clean water

Supplying clean tank water as the local town water is unclean and not fit for consumption.

Our Projects:

Manyatta Baptist Church

In the church compound we have built a minister’s house, a three storey 6 classroom trade school (also used for seminars and youth camps), several water tanks, and implemented a feeding program for children from the slum area to supplement their meagre diet. We also support the unpaid ministers and several gifted children to enable them to go to university.

Manyatta Medical Camp

A mini mercy ship style package using local doctors, nurses and pharmacists. Operating in the slums for 3 days, 3 times per year, between 300 to 500 people per camp will receive medical help. The cost per 3 day camp including all medications has been estimated at $4000.

Manyatta Trade School

The Kenyan Trade School is currently empowering the Manyatta community with the skills and confidence they need to give themselves a better life. We assist with simple things such as sending their child to school, being able to travel for medical needs, and ensuring clean water.
